Every year, our teams across the world come together to pack “Love In A Box” gifts, which are sent to the girls in the hostels maintained by Prax Foundation Roots, to show that we are thinking of them. This year, we took the decision to change our approach, as having spoken with the girls, we discovered that they would actually prefer to receive something else.
So, instead of sending our “Love In A Box” gifts to Sri Lanka, we instead arranged for a local tailor to visit the girls to create brand new dresses for them as Christmas gifts, before they broke up for the end of the year. The girls all chose different designs to suit their individual preferences and style, and they were very excited to receive their custom-made dresses! We also arranged for an in-country delivery of tasty cakes for them all. This decision therefore proved to be a popular way of showing our affection, and meant that the girls got everything they wished for at Christmas.
